2019: A Year in Review

Another year has flown by—and CH keeps on growing.

As we begin a new decade, we can’t help but glance back at the last year in Castlehaven Finance:

January

  • We started 2019 with an organisational total of €500 million in facilities provided.

  • The team grew to 14 members when David Moriarty came on board as Portfolio Manager.

  • Four CH-funded social projects handed keys to 100 families in Carrickbrennan, Ardee, Slane Road, and Santry.


February

  • Former Irish rugby international and experience financial advisor John Fitzgerald joined the team as Business Development Manager for the Munster region.

  • Castlehaven opened a second office, located in Cork City, Co. Cork.

  • John and our new Cork office were featured in the Irish Examiner.


March

  • As March kicked off, we exceeded €530 million funding for development.

  • Cathy Courtney celebrated her one-year anniversary with CH.

  • We marked International Women’s Day by recognising the four women of the Castlehaven Finance team.


May

  • Castlehaven-funded development “Mill Works” in Islandbridge was featured in the Irish Times.

  • A CH commercial loan resulted in the launch of the brand new Hendrick Hotel in Smithfield, Dublin 7.

  • A new housing development financed by Castlehaven broke ground in Wicklow, featuring some amazing views!


June

  • Financed by CH, an 18th-century estate home was renovated and included in the launch of a new housing development in Sandyford, Co. Dublin.

  • CH agreed to fund 16 luxurious four-bed homes in Montenotte, Co. Cork.


August

  • Minister Eoghan Murphy officially opened Castlehaven-funded social housing development Castleguard Manor in Ardee, Co. Louth.

  • Castlehaven Finance announced our partnership with Avenue Capital Group! With the support of our new backer, we aim to lend €500 million annually over the next four years.

  • Our new partnership made the press, featured in the Irish Times and other publications.

November

  • Members of our team were delighted to attend this year’s An Cosán Winter Ball at The Shelbourne Hotel. An Cosán is a non-profit whose mission is to eradicate poverty through education.

  • Castlehaven agreed to finance another commercial site, this time in Rathnew. The new town centre will feature a supermarket, car park, café, roads, pedestrian and cycle paths, parkland, and a village square.


December

  • Partner Clark McCann represented CH on the Bisnow Breakfast panel, discussing Residential & Affordable Housing.

  • We celebrated the year’s accomplishments at the Castlehaven Christmas Party 2019 in Venue35. It was a great night and fun to see so many clients, colleagues, and friends!

  • We had our first annual Castlehaven Cork Christmas party to celebrate the successful launch of our Cork office, as well as all of the exciting local developments we funded in 2019.


As 2020 kicks off, we’d like to thank all of our wonderful clients and colleagues for partnering with us over the last year. You helped to make 2019 another successful year of property lending in Castlehaven Finance! So far, we’ve lent more than €665 million for property development in Ireland, and we’re not stopping anytime soon. We looking forward to this brand new decade, full of opportunity for CH and our clients.
